This declaration was made by the church leaders at the Just Concluded 2019 Leadership Retreat resolved that henceforth, Pastors must ensure that Marriage Vows are typed inside the Wedding Program before the Wedding Day Proper.
Speaking on behalf of the leaders of the church on Thursday at the Evangel Camp Okpoto Ebonyi State where the Leadership of the Church held her 2019 Retreat.
The General Superintendent of Assemblies Of Nigeria Rev Dr. Chidi Okoroafor said the attention of Leadership has been drawn to attempt by some of our pastors to skip the vow Session during weddings.
Dr. Okoroafor condemned such act and reiterated that the General Council of Assemblies Of God Nigeria till tomorrow still believes in the Biblical Principles of Marriage.
Our Doctrinal belief as far as Marriage is concerned is that it is for Better and for Worse, in Sickness and in Health, for Richer and for Poorer” he said.
He further said that nobody should use Assemblies Of God Pulpit to say for Better and for Best, for Richer and for Richest etc” The Leaders adopted the Resolution when the Communique Committee Presented her communique at the end of the Program.
The leaders urged Pastors to ensure that intending Couples type the Marital vows inside their Wedding Program. The Leadership of the Church also frowned at the use of handset to preach by Pastors in Assemblies Of God Pulpit, which is never our pattern.
The GS Rev Dr. Chidi Okoroafor admonished Pastors to always use their Holy Bible while delivering messages in their various Pulpit.
